Happy New Year!

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, Citywomen, lend us your ears!

Just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year, now that you're safely into it and we're sure you're not planning on returning it to the store.  (Hey!  Maybe that's what people mean when they say "Many happy returns.")

We've been off for a few weeks now, visiting family, celebrating the yuletide, and whatnot.  But we're about to get back at that ever-enjoyable playing of concerts starting this weekend.

You can find the latest blinking red dots right HERE.

If you see that we're not playing in your area, and want to see about setting something up, give us a call or e-mail us at LostAndFoundConcert@gmail.com.  (World Wide Phone 419.897-9792)

And in case you're one of those rare people who are using The Facebook, you can go and "like"our Band Page, if you're so inclined.

Looking forward to a fabulous 14, and hope to see you around the water cooler . . . or, you know, at a concert.

Hey everybody . . . get DOWN!

https://www.speedwood.com/store/index.php?sku=doen&cat=cds

It's not too early to get DOWN!

The new album from Lost And Found is available for pre-order.

(And arrives before Dec. 25th too.)

We can't adequately express how pleased we are to bring you DOWN: An entire 17-song album of nothing but ballads, slow songs, quiet tunes, mellow music, you know the soft stuff.

Though we do still have some concerts scheduled in December, we won't be bringing the people DOWN at concerts until January, 2014.  But if you want to get DOWN sooner, you can pre-order it here and we will ship it to you to arrive before St. Nicholas drops down your chimney.

Want to bring a friend DOWN while you're at it?  We're offering a special rate for those who want to Double DOWN.  Get a reduced rate when you buy more than one copy.

Plus, we've decided to add a couple more options as well.
Now you can get DOWN with the lyrics and chords, and even bring your entire congregation DOWN!

https://www.speedwood.com/store/index.php?sku=downchurch&cat=cds

There are so many ways to get DOWN, we think you'll agree.

But in the meantime, we hope you have a great Thanksgiving, and that we'll see you at a concert sometime in the coming months.

If you don't see a concert near you at our website, give us a call at 419.897-9792, or send us an e-mail at LostAndFoundConcert@gmail.com

We're always looking for new places to play, and chances to be reunited with folks in places where we've played in the past.

HOORAY!!! You Did It!

As our friends down south might say, Y'all are awesome!

Thanks to all who supported our Kickstarter campaign.

The whole reason we used Kickstarter was to assess whether there was an interest in a CD of just our ballads.  As it turns out, there is just such an interest!  Or, at least there is just such an interest from a few hundred people it seems.

We're going to start recording next Monday, and the CD's will be shipped in early December.  At some point before then, we'll collect all the included names using Kickstarter "surveys," and at some other point will release the name of the actual CD . . . you know, once we know the answer ourselves.

Those who missed Kickstarter but still want to preorder can do so at our website

And meanwhile, we offer you all this little thank you gift.

Like we said, Y'all are awesome!!!

Surprise!

That was a fast year, huh?

Actually, it's only been a couple weeks, don't worry.

But we figured we should write a little post here and let you know that we have in fact decided to throw it out to The People to decide whether or not to do an album of ballads.  In other words, we've launched a Kickstarter project by means of polling listeners.

If you're a person who wants an album of just our slow songs, click HERE and make your voice heard.

If you're a person who does not was an album of just our slow songs, click here and rock on.

Remember Us?

So, some people have a daily blog; others have a weekly blog, or even monthly blog.  We, however outdo them all . . .

Welcome, my friends, to the ANNUAL BLOG!

Really don't have much to say, but figured we'd better say something.  (We really ought to run for office, right?)

But the reason you rarely hear from us in this space is because we've long ago started using Facebook as the method of talking about the mundane activities of our daily lives.  (We really ought to run for office, right?)  If you want to follow along on our touring travels, you can do so at the Facebook link.  Word on the street is, you don't even have to join Facebook to subscribe to that page.  But, hey, who trusts the street word, right?

Oh, and one other thing:

We're thinking of giving the people what they want (as The Kinks might say), and so we're considering making an album of Nothing But Ballads.  As in, All The Slow Songs.  As in, Getting Our Manilow On.

However, we don't want to get ourselves backed into a corner of Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time.  So we're thinking we might turn to Kickstarter to fund the project.  That way, if enough people really want to have 20 something Lost And Found ballads in their CD collection, the project will fund itself.  And, if we're going to lose our shirts (which NOBODY wants to see, believe me), then the thing simply won't happen and we'll all breathe a sigh of relief.  (We should run for office, right?)

Anyway, if we do decide to try Kickstarter, we'll break our ANNUAL BLOG pace and post something here probably as soon as a month from now.

(Apologies in advance for the breakneck pace if that does in fact occur.)

Meantime, you just go and rock on with your bad self, okay?

Silly Ol' September!

As the old saying which I just made up goes, "It ain't a blog post if you don't mention Canada."

So true, ain't it?  But we'll get to that.

As you may recall, we were destined for a big jaunt across corn country, or what used to be corn country.  This year it seems more like a lot of plants that someone forgot to water.  I think the technical term is, "drought."  But, as planned, we played in Williston OH.  Our new friend Ellie played some songs before our set, and that was awesome.  And during our set, we were presented with balloon hats.  And just as a presidential candidate must don the T shirt over the necktie, we wore the hats . . . and we'll appreciate your vote in November.

After that concert, we had to hightail it west, because we were scheduled the next afternoon in Decorah IA, which is a goodly distance away.  We did in fact make it in time, and played for Rally Day at a local park, which was great fun, despite the keyboard's tendency to need to be rebooted from the blazing sunball in the sky.

We both went home, and then regrouped for the third outdoor concert of the month in Grass Lake MI, which is quite close to Jackson, which claims to be the birthplace of the Republican party (though it should be noted that Madison WI, Exeter NH, and Crawfordsville IA, all make this same claim).  Anyway, we had a great time, and then hung around in town to play at a worship service in the morning at the sponsoring parish.

We both went home, and then Michael came out my way yet again so we could head down and play in Columbus OH, where everybody seems to wear red on Saturdays, in anticipation of shouting out the cleverest cheer known to human kind.  We stayed at my house that night, and then the next day headed to our stomping grounds of western New York to play at Holy Ghost Church, in Bergholz.  Saw all sorts of people from our past, and took in the stunning display of pastors' photos in the narthex, where we watched the Evolution of the Smile.

We stayed in downtown Niagara Falls, just to ramp up the nostalgia, and then bright and early headed back to Bergholz to play for a delightful group of grade school students from Holy Ghost school.  Then, obviously, we had to go to Viola's for a sub, and DiCamillo's for a loaf of bread, and then I dropped Michael at the airport, and drove on home to the second largest city in Ohio.

Which brings us to the ancient maxim regarding blog posts and our neighbors to the north:
In the morning, we're both flying to Calgary so we can drive on down to Lethbridge Alberta, which is the commercial, financial, transportation and industrial centre of southern Alberta.  And I believe it is also the center of those things, if I'm not mistaken.

Don't forget to welcome October when it comes around.  (October has a long memory when it comes to being slighted in such matters.)
